- Liaise between hospitals, courts (judges, probate auditors, and coordinators), Attorneys Ad Litem and public for high-volume and extremely time-sensitive caseloads.
- Sets up and maintains HIPAA-protected files and information.
- Prepares documents for review and revision by attorney in preparation for filing.
- Maintains attorney’s calendars and dockets, including appearance dates, and other related matters, to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist attorney with the training of county department staff (including Sheriff’s deputies), hospital staff, and prospective attorneys ad litem.
- Maintain subject matter/case process logs for multiple case types.
- Submit work orders to IT for the maintenance of form letters in document management system.
- Liaise with County Court at Law Managing Judge during a local state of disaster.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School/GED and 2 years of specialized vocational/technical training.
- 5 years job-related experience.
- Strong computer and typing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communications; ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
- Accustomed to working in a time-sensitive environment. Ability to work afterhours, when necessary.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Paralegal Certificate preferred; Notary Public preferred; Bilingual preferred.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $25.21 - $31.52 hourly based on qualifications
CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
