The Lawyer Talent Development team's sole focus is the development of the lawyers at the firm. Our team strives to make sure every lawyer at the firm has the support and the resources needed to be successful in their career. King & Spalding's comprehensive career development resources enable our lawyers to continually grow their careers and effectively meet client and firm needs and expectations. Our team is seeking a Coordinator who will focus on Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Support and manage the CLE accreditation of over 200 training courses per year (both internal and client-facing), including making recommendations on how to qualify programs for credit and whether credit should be granted, and support the maintenance of the firm’s status as an accredited provider in numerous jurisdictions. 
  • Develop a working knowledge of CLE regulations and processes in multiple jurisdictions and over time, develop ability to analyze, interpret, apply, and monitor such rules, all with the goal of maximizing CLE credit for K&S programs and supporting lawyers with CLE compliance questions. 
  • Submit CLE credit applications in jurisdictions in which the firm is not an accredited provider, as necessary. 
  • Monitor and review approved and denied CLE course applications in all states. 
  • Prepare CLE application(s) for all firm training programs (internal and client-facing) and report attendance to corresponding jurisdictions. 
  • Prepare and process attendance forms and issue CLE certificates for internal and client CLE programs. 
  • Ensure the firm’s Learning Management System appropriately reflects training program details (including inputting and updating information throughout the course accreditation process). 
  • Verify course attendance for CLE; prepare and distribute CLE certificates of attendance; assign credits to internal users through the firm’s Learning Management System. 
  • Input external CLE certificates to support CLE compliance and tracking on an as-requested basis. 
  • On an as-needed basis, provide support for large-scale training events including academies. 
  • Manage PLI (Practicing Law Institute) access for all new lawyers and paralegals.  
  • Manage communications to new personnel related to CLE and other professional development resources. 
  • Maintain CLE budget spreadsheet, including monthly attendance fees and/or application fees. 
  • Track and provide reports on CLE training metrics (including course evaluation trends/themes); over time, develop ability to make recommendations for changes based on this information. 
  • Respond to CLE-related questions, whether they arise through the CLE mailbox or otherwise, and including from the broader Lawyer Talent Development team. 
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects  
  • Highly responsive and service oriented. 
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to multitask efficiently. 
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with attorneys and other personnel at all levels. 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, drawing on others as resources as appropriate, as well as the ability to take initiative and work independently. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
