
Intelligence Federal is a fast-growing government contracting company and seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support our contract with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). This role will begin PART TIME through the end of September 2025, then transition to full time. The ideal candidate has litigation paralegal experience. Hours: Approximately 20-28 hours per week through September 2025, then transitions to full time. (Part time work is calculated by total hours and can be completed as 3 days of work onsite or 4-5 days of shortened hours.)
Location: FEMA, 500 C St SW, Washington, DC 20024. Some hybrid days may be available, though the role is technically fully onsite.
JOB DUTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Work closely with lawyers, staff, and stakeholders to screen files for completeness, proper jurisdiction and other elements.
- Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff.
- Assist attorneys and investigators in preparing for hearings, legal discussions briefings, and meetings on various legal matters.
- Conduct and assist in factual and legal research.
- Draft legal documents such as correspondence, complaints, and legal briefs.
- Assist with contacting and corresponding with clients, lawyers, witnesses, experts and federal/state government personnel.
- Docket new appeals in the electronic case filing system and/or e-filing system.
- Work on presentations, memoranda, and special projects.
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL
- Must be able to obtain and must be able to pass a Public Trust background check
- Must be a US Citizen.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS & SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of legal experience with litigation experience
- Knowledge of Paralegal Methods, Practices and Procedures.
- Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe PDF.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well within groups handling large volume of work.
- Ability to work independently.
