We Need Your Drive and Precision
We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Partner with a portable book of business to join our growing team in Houston, Texas and/or Columbus, Ohio. If you have a strong track record in complex commercial litigation with experience in energy, oil and gas, or related sectors, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity to take your practice to the next level.
As our ideal candidate, you possess a solid background in complex commercial litigation with experience in energy, oil and gas, or related sectors, a firm grasp of client and team management, and a desire to be a part of the firm’s growth. You will thrive in a dynamic, small office environment in either Columbus or Houston, with a willingness to develop associates to grow the litigation practice. Strong candidates that are licensed in Texas and/or Columbus, but located outside of Columbus or Houston, will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of energy, oil and gas, and related industry litigation matters.
Represent clients in high-stakes, complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on industry-specific regulatory, environmental, contractual, and compliance issues.
Drive business development by leveraging existing relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding the firm's presence in the industry-related sectors.
Collaborate with other partners and practice groups to offer integrated, client-focused legal solutions.
Supervise and mentor junior associates, contributing to their professional development.
Position Requirements
7+ years of experience in complex litigation, with a focus on energy, oil and gas, or related industries (e.g., utilities, renewables, natural resources).
Portable book of energy related business ($500,000+)
Expertise in energy-related disputes, including commercial contracts, regulatory matters, environmental issues, and/or oil and gas law.
Proven track record of generating new business and maintaining relationships with current clients
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills, proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, analyze, organize, attend to detail, and follow through
Desire to mentor and coach younger attorneys
Commitment to excellent client service
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Texas and/or Ohio (or willing to obtain licensure upon hire)
Experience in MS Office suite applications and e-discovery platforms
Must be based in Houston, TX or Columbus, OH
