BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior secretarial experience.
3. Proficiency in typing skills.
4. Experienced with Excel, Microsoft Word, and other computer systems.
5. Organized, with ability to multi-task while performing high quality work in stressful situations.
6. Remain courteous, poised, and gracious to the public and staff at all times.
7. Be a Notary Public or ability to obtain notary status.
8. Proficient spoken and written English.
9. Punctual, trustworthy, honest, and reliable. Be at work from 8am-5pm, 5 days per week.
10. Pass background, criminal history check, and drug test.
OTHER: Ability to speak and understand Spanish, though not a qualification requirement, is desirable.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES:
1. Perform Legal Secretarial work for Attorneys.
2. Primary duties include (but are not limited to): Type and prepare, accurately and professionally, and within time constraints, a multitude of legal documents.
3. Secondary duties include (but are not limited to): Answering in-coming telephone lines and directing callers to proper individual/entity.
4. File court papers and documents with proper office in a timely fashion using the E-File system.
5. Other duties include (but are not limited to) data entry and records management.
6. Taking messages for all employees.
7. Greeting and assisting visitors/callers in a cordial and polite manner.
8. Assist other staff as directed by the District Attorney, First Asst. or Office Manger
