
Job Description
The selectee of this position serves as a Physical Security Specialist responsible for advising and consulting with the Federal judges, U.S. Attorneys, Clerks of Court, U.S. Marshals, etc., on judicial security matters. The incumbent also serves as an Equipment and Installation Standards Specialist.. This position is located in the Judicial Security Division / Arlington, Virginia.
Duties As a Physical Security Specialist at the GS-0080-13 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing expert technical oversight for the installation, configuration, integration, and testing of electronic security systems, including alarm, access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection, ensuring compliance with security policies, specifications, and operational standards; Conducting comprehensive vulnerability assessments of physical security measures across multiple facilities and territories, identifying system deficiencies and recommending enhancements to mitigate risks in accordance with federal security standards; Leading and managing security-related projects, including system upgrades, replacements, and new installations, utilizing PMI-approved project management methodologies to develop scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans, and ensuring project deliverables are on time, within budget limitations and meet both security and operational requirements; Overseeing contractor performance, reviewing proposals, administering modifications, and ensuring contractual compliance; Performing regional site inspections, security assessments, and technical consultations with facility security personnel, judicial officials, and law enforcement partners to enhance physical security measures and provide technical support and training; Contributing to the development, review, and implementation of security policies, procedures, and technical documentation, including system operation manuals and training materials for security staff and end-users; and Investigating security incidents, alarms, and system failures, providing incident analysis, recommending corrective actions, and documenting reports for security investigations and audits. Salary- $120,579 - $156,755/year
