Job Description

Why this role
Handle sophisticated commercial real estate deals, and work at a firm that handles real complexity? You'll manage acquisitions, dispositions, and financings for serious commercial clients — not just push paper through closings. At BPE, you'll partner with experienced attorneys on joint ventures, fund work, and mixed-use developments, with the support and infrastructure to actually do the work well. No billable-hour pressure and a culture that respects your time.
What you'll do
Manage commercial real estate transactions end-to-end — from term sheet through closing. Handle acquisitions and dispositions of office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use properties. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases across asset classes. Support joint ventures, real estate fund work, and investor-side transactions. Work on construction and mortgage financing matters. Conduct thorough due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, and entitlement review — and juggle multiple active deals without letting details slip.
What we're looking for
You bring 5+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience and can run deals independently. You're a skilled drafter and negotiator who can hold your own across the table from sophisticated counterparties. You manage competing deadlines without hand-holding and communicate clearly with clients, lenders, and other parties. A JD from an accredited law school and an active Florida Bar membership in good standing are required.
Bonus points for: prior Big Law or mid-size firm transactional experience; experience with real estate funds or joint ventures; construction lending background; or multi-jurisdictional deal work.
What we offer
  • $150K–$200K base, commensurate with experience, plus bonus potential
  • Health insurance, retirement plan, and generous PTO
  • CLE fully covered
  • Annual all-expenses-paid firm trip (post-eligibility)
  • A collaborative, multi-office Florida firm with a genuine commitment to work-life balance
  • Sophisticated deal work without the Big Law grind
Ready to apply?
Send your resume and a brief note about a commercial real estate deal you're proud of working on to Jennifer Youngblood, HR Director at jyoungblood@berlinpatten.com. We review applications on a rolling basis and aim to respond within a week.
