Job Description
Lewis Rice LLC, a large and well-established downtown law firm, is seeking a full-time Estate Planning Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our Estate Planning Department. This role is ideal for a dependable and collaborative professional who thrives in a team-focused environment. Primary Responsibilities:
- Electronically file court documents with state and local courts
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals in estate planning and estate administration matters
- Assist with the preparation of deeds and conduct property record and deed searches
- Process, distribute, and coordinate outgoing and incoming mail, including FedEx shipments
- Open and maintain client and matter records using the firm's client management system
- Reconcile invoices and expense reports
- Scan, organize, save, and maintain estate planning and estate administration documents and files
- Proofread, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and other materials for accuracy and consistency
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, and critical deadlines for attorneys and clients
- Notarize legal documents as required
Job Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with legal software systems (training provided)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
