Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calendaring: Track deadlines for state, federal, appellate, and arbitration cases.
- Court Appearances: Set up methods for attorney appearances and obtain hearing dates for motions, IDC’s, and ex parte matters.
- Tentative Rulings: Check and respond as needed.
- Communication: Follow up on emails, update case management systems, and communicate with opposing counsel and clients regarding case updates, mediations, and depositions.
- Document Preparation:
- Draft, proofread, and finalize documents including joint statements, discovery responses, and mediation briefs.
- Prepare tables of contents and authorities for motions.
- Prepare and file notices, stipulations, arbitration demands, and declarations related to LWDA.
- Log mediation fees, expenses, and prepare case cost details.
- Research: Conduct research on ER’s, CR’s, Federal Rules, and local court rules.
- Filing: Physically file documents in court and submit materials to the LWDA and Berger.
- Deposition Coordination: Set up and coordinate in-person depositions with the admin team.
- Preparation and Reminders: Organize upcoming deadlines and provide reminders as necessary.
- Case Management: Maintain documentation of hearing summaries, meet and confer calls, and prepare time and task charts.
- Appeals: Prepare appendices for appeals and file documents in the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Payments: Handle class/PAGA payments and individual payments.
- Additional duties as assigned
