Stearns Weaver Miller, a full-service commercial law firm serving clients throughout Florida, is currently searching for an experienced Real Estate Legal Assistant to join our Tampa Office.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of administrative functions such as preparing engagement letters, creating and filing expense reports, coordinating couriers, answering phones, and making travel arrangements
- Prepare, review, revise, and proof legal documents and correspondence
- create and format documents
- edit and track (i.e. “redline”) documents
- Assist with recordation of documents in public records
- Maintain attorneys’ calendars and schedule
- Maintain attorneys’ client contact information
- Assist with running conflict checks, opening and closing of client matters
- Establish and maintain accurate electronic and paper files
- Ensure that the clients’ billing requirements are correctly set up
- Input and edit attorneys’ time
- Review and edit paperless pre-bills for attorneys’ review and approval
- Ability to understand, edit and proof various documents related to conveyances, acquisitions, and real estate development using CompareRite or other redlining applications
- Ability to manage a busy desk for two or three attorneys and work in a team environment
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High degree of initiative and ability to plan, organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Have a can-do attitude and flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Microsoft Office 2016 knowledge with Outlook and advance knowledge of Word functions
- Familiarity in using an electronic document management Experience in Filesite / iManage is a plus
- Experience in Simplifile / online public records recording is a plus
- Experience in Adobe
