Lateral Mid-Senior Level Associate

Practice Area: Antitrust Law, AML, CFE

Location: Los Angeles, CA (AmLaw 20 firm).

Schedule: 360 hybrid, 2,000+ billable expectation

Salary: Estimated at $250,000–$375,000 (lockstep).

Bonus: Can range from $20,000 to $50,000+, depending individual and firm performance.

The Client:

AmLaw 20 law firm with antitrust and competition practice seeks to add an exceptional and experience associate to their high-stakes investigations and transactional corporate practice. Seeking to expand its West Coast footprint by adding accomplished antitrust associates with strong enforcement and merger review experience.

Description:

Join a dynamic antitrust team advising clients on DOJ and FTC investigations, merger filings (Hart-Scott-Rodino, pre-merger notifications), and complex civil litigation. You’ll manage client relationships, draft regulatory filings, coordinate internal investigations, and contribute to deal strategy. The role offers upward mobility and visibility to firm leadership, with opportunity to grow into a senior role or partnership track.

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

Experience with HSR filings, agency interactions, and merger clearance.

JD from an accredited law school, admitted in CA or promptly eligible.

Class of 2018–2022 (mid-level) or 2015+ (senior) lateral experience.

Preferred:

Background in civil antitrust litigation or policy work.

Demonstrated writing and analytical skills in regulatory contexts.

Ability to manage matters autonomously, work across teams, and interface with clients.

Business orientation and interest in developing client relationships.
