Duties
- Advises on claims laws for the DHA command on legal issues
- Conducts legal research, analyzes judicial decisions, and negotiates complex claim settlements
- Serve as the primary legal advisor on claims collection programs
- Reviews proposed legislation, regulations, and directives for legal sufficiency
- Adjudicates medical billing compromises, discounts, and waivers
- Resolves complex accounts receivable issues and audit responses
- Directs and reviews paralegal staff actions for investigation, adjudication and settlement
- Advises DHA leadership and program officials on negotiation and claims matters

Bar Membership: Applicant must currently be a member in good standing of the Bar of a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States (e.g., American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), or the District of Columbia.
