Estate Planning Paralegal Job Details:
Snell & Wilmer is seeking a full-time Estate Planning Paralegal to join its Private Client Services Practice Group in Phoenix. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting estate and trust planning matters involving high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
The position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist attorneys with estate planning, trust administration, probate, and estate administration matters.
- Prepare and revise estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, beneficiary designations, and related documents.
- Assist with trust funding, asset retitling, wealth-transfer planning, and closely held business entities.
- Prepare probate and estate administration documents, inventories, accountings, notices, and related filings.
- Gather and organize financial, tax, asset, valuation, and client information.
- Assist with estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and fiduciary income tax matters and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, advisors, and other professionals.
- Track assets, distributions, expenses, tax obligations, court requirements, and important deadlines.
- Maintain client and matter files and assist with matter opening, closing, billing, and document management.
- Proactively identify missing information, potential issues, and upcoming deadlines.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree and paralegal certificate from ABA-accredited paralegal training program or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
- At least 2 years of paralegal experience in estate and trust planning or equivalent experience
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work-product to both attorneys and clients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to self-start
- Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision and to seek help when needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
