Job Summary

Johnson Law Group is looking for a Manager, Talent Management to support the design, implementation, and management of programs that attract, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce. This role is responsible for the talent lifecycle—from performance management and succession planning to employee relations—and will work to integrate learning and development initiatives throughout each stage. The ideal candidate is a proactive and empathetic leader with a deep understanding of HR best practices, a strong command of employment law, and a proven ability to drive organizational success through effective talent strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and continuous improvement of performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and calibration sessions to ensure fair and effective evaluations across the organization.
  • Manage and guide leaders in addressing complex employee relations issues. Lead or oversee any investigations, and ensure that all corrective and disciplinary actions are fair, consistent, and compliant with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development (L&D) department to embed comprehensive training and development programs in our performance management culture. This includes co-creating leadership development paths, career-mapping frameworks, and skill-building initiatives that meet the organization's strategic needs.
  • Partner with executive leadership and department heads to identify and nurture high-potential employees, developing robust succession plans to secure a strong internal pipeline for critical roles.
  • Analyze employee feedback and turnover data to inform and refine talent initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team to align talent management and recruiting strategies, ensuring a consistent and exceptional experience for all candidates and employees.
  • Use HR data and metrics to analyze talent trends, identify skill gaps, and measure the effectiveness of talent programs, providing strategic, data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain a deep and current knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure all talent management initiatives are compliant and reflect industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a dedicated talent management or employee relations role. Proven experience developing and implementing HR programs and guiding managers through complex employee issues.
  • Possess expert knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law, ensuring all talent management programs are designed and executed with full compliance.
  • Familiarity with international employment law is a nice-to-have.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience managing stakeholders in a matrixed organization
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with a proven ability to leverage data to drive key business decisions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and talent management software
