Job Title: Associate Attorney
Location: South Florida or Tampa (Mostly Remote, Some In-Person Required)
Position Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: 1-4 Years
Bar Admission: Florida

About the Firm:
We are a small, dynamic full-service admiralty and maritime law firm seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing team. With over 35 years of combined experience specializing in maritime law, we pride ourselves on providing pragmatic legal representation to the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in federal and state court, including drafting and filing legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Manage a caseload, including conducting legal research, preparing legal arguments, and advising clients on complex legal matters.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation, providing support and contributing to strategy.
  • Maintain and build client relationships, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Occasionally work in-person (based in South Florida or Tampa).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
  • Strong experience in federal and state court litigation, with an understanding of procedural rules and legal strategy.
  • Excellent writing and research skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a mostly remote environment, with flexibility to attend in-person meetings, court appearances, or be in office in south Florida as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maritime law experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with technology and remote work tools.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a small team.
