What You Will Do

We are looking for a Senior Estate Planning Attorney to join our team. The Attorney will be responsible for the design and implementation of gift, estate, property, income and generation-skipping transfer tax analysis of estate and business plans with tax sensitive considerations. This role will carefully handle complex tax situations including those related to charitable lead and remainder trusts, irrevocable insurance trusts, private foundations, partnership and corporation redemptions, dissolutions, mergers and transfers, buy-sell agreements, sales to defective trusts, real estate transfers, and grantor retained annuity trusts.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage experience with sophisticated wealth transfer strategies including, buy-sell agreements, charitable foundations and trusts, irrevocable trusts, defective grantor trusts and grantor retained annuity trusts.
  • Prepare estate planning documents like wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney and advance health care directives.
  • Conduct tax analysis of estate and business plans with sensitive tax considerations.
  • Design and implement gift, estate, property, income and generation-skipping transfer tax plans.
  • Prepare federal gift and estate tax returns and complete audits of the returns.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Master of Laws in Taxation preferred.
  • Licensed (or willing to be licensed) to practice law in CA.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in estate and tax planning.
  • Provide a high level of service and expertise to all clients.
  • Strong research, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrate highly proficient computer skills.
  • Experience with accuracy and organization of databases, files and workflows.
  • Possess excellent practice management, leadership, interpersonal relationship building, entrepreneurial and strong business development skills.
Benefits

$200,000 - $300,000 salary, based on experience, and discretionary bonus based on company performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) plan, vacation time, life insurance, disability, voluntary benefits.
