Job Description
The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia is distinct among United States Attorney's Offices due to the breadth and scale of its work. It acts as both the local and the federal prosecutor for the nation's capital. Locally, it handles cases ranging from misdemeanor drug possession to murders, while federally, it handles cases ranging from child pornography to gang, financial fraud, and terrorism. The Office represents the district in civil suits.
Duties If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the Human Resources Section of the Administrative Division that is responsible for providing direct clerical, administrative and technical support to Human Resources Specialists in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Typical work assignments will include: -Processes the full range of personnel pay actions ensuring actions are processed through the National Finance Center/Empower (EHR) System in accordance with applicable agency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) guidance, rules and regulations. -Conducts new employee orientation and process all on-boarding forms. -Examines and researches a variety of pay and processing matters or problems. -Researches and applies applicable laws and regulations sufficient to gather and organize information for response to inquiries and/or resolve problems referred by others. -Uses word processing software and printing devices to produce a variety of standardized documents such as standard forms, letters and reports. -Updates and maintaining various electronic files. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement. Salary- $51,442 - $66,872/year
