About the Position:

 

If you are a self-motivated, collaborative individual who wants to make an impact and provide practical legal advice on a variety of employment issues including those relating to recruiting and hiring, EEO, wage and hour issues, performance management, background checks, non-competes, independent contractors, compensation, pay transparency, terminations, investigations, AI in employment, leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, this may be the role for you.

  • Provide practical legal advice to Oracle HR and executives, in a dynamic environment on complex employment issues including those relating to recruiting and hiring, EEO, wage and hour issues, performance management, background checks, non-competes, independent contractors, compensation, pay transparency, terminations, investigations, AI in employment, leaves of absence and workplace accommodations.
  • Build and maintain strong professional working relationships with internal clients, peers, and external partners.
  • Investigate and prepare responses to administrative agency claims and interact with those external agencies to resolve conflicts.
  • Draft, edit and revise employment policies, trainings, and agreements.
  • Partner with the Employment Practices and Employee Relations teams in managing investigations and bringing matters to resolution.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders on a variety of company and HR initiatives where pragmatic legal advice is needed.  
  • Assist internal legal colleagues on matters requiring employment law expertise.
  • Cost-effectively manage outside counsel and bring litigation to a successful resolution.
  • Independently balance and prioritize competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure Oracle’s compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Stay up to date on employment laws and communicate legal updates to relevant internal partners. 


Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of relevant legal experience for senior corporate counsel level. People at corporate counsel level (4+ years) will also be considered. Experience should include, employment litigation, HR counseling, policy drafting and implementation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative, and dynamic team environment.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Admission to practice law in the United States.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
