Description

Trenam Law is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to a highly productive commercial litigation attorney in our downtown St. Petersburg office. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an independent environment, is highly organized, and possesses a strong ability to anticipate needs and execute tasks with minimal direction. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level legal and administrative support to litigation attorneys, ensuring deadlines are met and client service is exceptional.
  • Prepare, format, and edit complex legal documents including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, and legal deadlines.
  • Coordinate with clients, courts, and internal teams; maintain updated contact information and case details. Handle heavy transcription work.
  • Assist with time entry using Aderant.
  • Review and file all emails, correspondence, and case documents in iManage/DMS (Document Management System).
  • Set up conferences/meetings and assist with pulling case law when needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail in all tasks.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant.
  • Prior focus in litigation preferred.
  • Substantial experience with filing and service requirements under Florida court rules.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong proofreading skills, and immaculate attention to spelling, grammar, and organization.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions from judges and attorneys, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office  
  • Aderant (timekeeping), and iManage/DMS experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to quickly learn new technologies is essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, consistently maintaining a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in a quiet, low-interaction environment.
  • Strong editing and writing skills with the ability to read and transcribe handwritten documents (particularly small script with abbreviations).
  • Highly responsive and able to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Very well-organized, with the ability to manage and keep track of multiple matters simultaneously.
