What You'll Do
- Advise mining clients on sophisticated transactional matters, including M&A, joint ventures, and project development
- Navigate federal, state, and international regulatory frameworks related to natural resources and environmental impact
- Structure and negotiate agreements involving mineral rights, operations, and cross-border investments
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive legal strategy and seamless client experience
- Help shape internal firm initiatives within the Energy & Natural Resources practice group
- 7+ years of corporate law experience with a focus in mining, energy, or natural resources
- Proven track record advising mining sector clients in both transactional and regulatory matters
- Active license and good standing with the Bar in the office location you're applying to (Denver, Oakland, LA, or DC)
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-stakes projects, deadlines, and client relationships independently
- Strong academic credentials and polished interpersonal communication skills
- Deep familiarity with mining regulations, permitting processes, land use, and ESG-related considerations
- Background in advising global mining clients or those with cross-border operations
