Director of Legal and Compliance

We are seeking a seasoned paralegal or attorney to support members of the Concordia Plans legal team and maintain various requirements and documentation related to the benefit plans, programs and operational needs of the organization.

General Summary
The Director of Legal and Compliance provides support to members of the Concordia Plans legal team and maintains various requirements and documentation related to the benefit plans, programs and operational needs of the organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for maintaining CPS plan and benefit program language and documentation.
- Performs legal research and analysis and presents results, including interpretations, findings and recommendations.
- Works with communication and operational teams to develop materials.
- Drafts documents for legal counsel review.
- Reviews legal developments and changes to determine impact on CPS plans and services.
- Acts as liaison for CPS legal team to regulators, vendors and other third parties.
- Produces or assists in production of board materials/resources.
- Performs legal review for communication materials going to plan members and employers.
- Working with staff of other entities, prepares and edits guides and other materials.
- Solves challenging legal problems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in legal studies or a related field, preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of experience as a legal administrator or analyst, paralegal, or similar positions or licensed attorney.
- Excellent research, writing and analysis skills; ability to absorb, process, recall and utilize complex information to provide possible solutions.
- Significant experience working in the employee benefits field, preferred.
- Experience working for multiple constituents, organizational leaders and stakeholders.
