Litigation Associate - Personal Injury

Burg Simpson attorneys manage and support personal injury matters from pre-litigation through the litigation life cycle.  Our personal injury attorneys collaborate with senior attorneys, other associates, and legal staff in developing case management strategies for the best outcome for our clients.

Responsibilities of the position include:

• Manage personal injury cases from inception through resolution, ensuring timing and strategic handling of all aspects of the case
• Negotiate suitable agreements and settle on the client’s behalf when appropriate
• Conduct thorough case research, review medical records, and gather relevant information to build compelling cases
• Draft and modify legal documents that include demand letters and pleadings that include developing and responding to discovery, disclosures and motions
• Collaborate with legal staff to ensure cases are handled effectively and efficiently
• Maintain organized and updated documentation for each case in the firm’s case management system

Position requirements include:

• Attorneys with 5+ years of experience in Personal Injury litigation
• Must be in good standing with an active license to practice law in the State of Colorado and admitted to practice in Federal District Court of any judicial district
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to produce thoughtful and persuasive legal documents
• Comfortable managing a full litigation caseload, working collaboratively, and delivering high-quality service to clients while upholding Burg Simpson's values and ethical standards
• Strong courtroom and advocacy experience with confidence in representing clients in various legal settings (deposition, hearing, mediation, and trial)
• First chair or second chair trial or arbitration experience with knowledge of trial and hearing procedures including the Colorado and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff in developing case management strategies for complex legal issues while ensuring comprehensive client services
• Must enjoy working with others and collaborating on personal injury matters to achieve the best outcome on behalf of Burg Simpson’s clients
