Job Title: Litigation Supervisor, Forensic Accounting

Department: Family Litigation 

Location: Century City (hybrid)

Description of Role:

Gursey | Schneider is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the litigation department. This role focuses on high-net-worth clients and business owners in all financial aspects of the marital dissolution process and allows for professional growth and career progression while offering work / life balance.  

Responsibilities:

  • Receive whole cases from a manager/partner and work on the (multiple) assignments independently (requires minimal day to day manager/partner supervision).
  • Be the main point of contact with client (including their business managers, tax accountants, assistants, etc.) and sometimes even counsel (depends on counsel (i.e., seniors may be the main point of contact with the paralegal and/or associate)
  • Provide educated updates and responses to counsel regarding status of assignments (always thinks to keep the ball in counsel's or client's court; does not simply agree to changes requested by counsel without thinking)
  • Able to identify issues that need to be brought to a manager’s/partner’s attention prior to deadlines and suggest possible solutions.  
  • Able to effectively utilize support staff and review their work prior to manager/partner review.
  • Able to plan and manage multiple deadlines (i.e., does not have to be told to work OT to meet deadlines; looks ahead for future assignments and deadlines (RFO filings; VSC briefs, etc.)
  • Proactively provides routine case updates to manager/partner.
  • Effectively serves as a “buddy” to newer staff.
  • Proactively responds to counsel and client. 
  • Prepares manager/partner for VSC’s, trial, depositions, etc. 
  • Work product (schedule with notes and workpapers) are mostly free of errors and are up to GS exhibit standards upon first presentation to manager/partner.  

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensed California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least four-six years of recent audit, accounting, or tax experience at a top-100 public accounting firm.
  • Must possess exceptional abilities in both written and oral communication.
  • Excellent computer skills required in Microsoft Suite.
  • Commuting distance to local office
