Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions. The associate will work on a variety of matters in real estate, transactional, and business law, and may handle matters across multiple asset classes—including multi-family, retail, office, and industrial—such as land development, financing, leasing, zoning, 1031 exchanges, construction, and deal or partnership structuring. The role also provides exposure to environmental law and environmental insurance matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, financing documents, and development agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage closings for commercial real estate transactions.
  • Assist on matters related to transactional and business law.
  • Support environmental law and environmental insurance matters.
  • Advise clients on zoning, land use, title, and regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys across the firm on complex commercial transactions.
  • Maintain client relationships and assist in business development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar; New York Bar a plus.
  • 5+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Compensation & Benefits: This position offers a salary range of $155,000 - $210,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Attorneys may also be eligible for discretionary year-end bonuses, merit-based increases, and origination credit. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401 (k) retirement plan, paid time off, and access to additional voluntary programs. The posted salary range reflects the base pay range for this position.
