Description

The Houston office of Brown Sims is looking for an Associate Attorney. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for a high volume caseload of claims falling under the Defense Base Act working closely with a supervising shareholder while growing in autonomy on these federal workers’ compensation claims arising from work-related injuries during work outside of the United States for private companies where the work is funded by United States government contracts. Travel required: One marketing domestic trip required per year.

Salary range will be provided during initial interview.
 

• Education Required: Juris Doctor degree
• Experience Required: None
• License to practice law in a state in the United States. The state of residence may also require licensure in that state.
• Graduated top 50% from law school.
• Demonstrated writing abilities based on initial written materials.
• Willingness to deny workers’ compensation benefits with professionalism and empathy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations for quality of work.
