What will you be doing in this role?

The Legal Assistant provides support and assists department leadership, Legal Counsels, Paralegals, and/or other legal staff in providing quality legal advice and services to the Board of Directors, Administration and Medical Staff or other areas for Cedars-Sinai and its related entities. Provides notarial service for hospital related transactions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transcribes correspondence and other legal documents prepared by attorneys.
  • Answers telephones, maintains calendars and arranges meetings for department staff and leadership.
  • Maintains digital department file index, makes new files and maintains all file types. Sends, receives, copies and/or distributes documents, as needed.
  • Orders office supplies and keeps inventory. Renews or orders library subscriptions and processes all department check requests for payment.
  • Archives files for off-site storage and performs such other functions as requested by the Senior Vice President and/or other legal staff.
  • Participates in the development and promotion of cooperation, teamwork, and a close working relationship among the Medical Staff, Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, Team Leaders and staff in achieving the goals and objectives of the organization.


Qualifications
Education
 
High School Diploma/GED required
 
Work Experience
 
1 year related legal secretarial/assistant experience required
