Sexual Assault Victim Advocate/Supervisor (Grant Funded)

Position Summary:
The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office seeks a dedicated and compassionate Victim Advocate/Supervisor to join our team. We're committed to protecting our community and supporting victims of crime.
In this role, you will provide critical support and advocacy for sexual assault victims throughout the criminal justice process. You'll serve as a liaison between victims and prosecutors, provide timely case updates, and attend court hearings. This position also includes supervising and mentoring other Victim Advocates, and other office-related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Advocacy: Provide individualized case support, crisis intervention, and resource referrals to victims of sexual assault.
Supervision: Mentor, train, and conduct staff and unit reviews and goals.
Case Management: Manage case files and ensure victims are informed of all prosecutorial procedures.
Community Engagement: Build relationships with community partners.
Grant Reporting: Assist with compliance and reporting for the VAWA grant.
Administrative Tasks: Manage case files, documentation, and attend meetings and conferences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. A minimum of 3 years of experience working in advocacy and with victims of crime. Strong understanding of victims' rights and the criminal justice system.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field.
Certification in crisis intervention or victim advocacy.
Bilingual or multilingual skills.

Salary Range:
33.21 - $51.87
