Job Description

Company: Texas Farm Bureau Business Corporation | Department: Legal   This position will support the legal department by assisting with the management of contracts, corporate records, regulatory matters, employment issues, and other legal matters. Additionally, this position will assist with the preparation and review of legal documents and correspondence and be primarily responsible for the document control process and ensure that all files are correctly archived and accessible.    The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent organizational, analytical, and legal acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work. Success in this role requires the ability to follow established procedures, partner effectively with diverse stakeholders, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced corporate environment.   MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY   Manage the legal department workflow by performing intake, initial assessment, routing, tracking, and completion of contracts and other legal matters to ensure timely review and completion by attorney(s); prepare weekly and quarterly reports tracking the status of the same. Track contract deadlines, renewal dates, notice provisions, and compliance obligations. Serve as liaison with numerous internal and external stakeholders. Manage legal files, calendars, and deadlines. Draft correspondence, memoranda, and routine legal documents for attorney review. Maintain corporate records, minutes, resolutions, entity filings, and governance documents.  Assist attorneys with expense reports, continuing legal education reporting, state bar dues, and other administrative duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.   MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS   Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an understanding of legal terminology and English grammar. Self-motivated, with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organization and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Strong proofreading and document management capabilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a diverse group of professionals. Proficiency with Microsoft programs, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, with proficiency in other programs such as Adobe, SharePoint, Excel, document management systems preferred.  Typing speed 65 WPM.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   Use of PC, telephone, copy machine, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day. Extended periods of sitting and concentration. Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.   WORKING CONDITIONS   Occasional long, irregular hours. Occasional travel by auto or other public transportation. Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company.
