Job Description

General Purpose: 

The Litigation Consultant provides efficient and insightful substantive input for in-house counsel and external constituents representing national law firms on casework ranging from the highly technical to the highly emotional, from single-party personal injury cases to complex, multi-party commercial litigation. Assist in the trial skills training of Holland & Hart litigators and support trial consulting business development.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Provide consulting to counsel on case strategy
  2. Provide opening statement and closing argument assistance
  3. Design instruments for pre-trial research
  4. Conduct mock research projects
  5. Facilitate small group discussions
  6. Perform post-trial interviews
  7. Write research finding reports
  8. Create the quantitative data charts following focus group and mock trial research (if not prepared on-site)
  9. Content-analyze open-ended responses from focus group and mock trial questionnaires and create charts summarizing the content analysis
  10. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data generated from mock trial and focus group research and incorporate into written research findings
  11. Design and draft survey protocols
  12. Use both traditional statistical and machine learning methods to analyze aggregated proprietary data and develop content for marketing materials and presentations
  13. Execute social media analysis of prospective jurors in the jury selection process
  14. Present research findings and recommendations
  15. Provide jury selection assistance
  16. Propose and deliver seminars and training programs
  17. Assist in delivering in-house CLE’s and in-house litigation training programs
  18. Assist in cultivating existing business
  19. Conduct witness evaluation and witness preparation sessions
  20. Perform additional duties and tasks assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

  1. Master’s degree in social science or similar degree required. D. in social science discipline preferred.
  2. Proven litigation consulting experience and legal communication training required.
  3. Superior organizational skills.
  4. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage demanding workload and proficient in setting priorities.
  7. Ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Extensive travel required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Schedule:

At this time, this position allows for a hybrid schedule.  Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks.  The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office day requirement.  

Location:

This position is open to all locations within the Holland & Hart footprint, however Denver is preferred. 

Compensation:

Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.  Colorado Salary Range - $163,764.84 to $272,941.39 annually.  Montana Salary Range - $155,576.60 - $259,294.32.  Washington DC Salary Range - $180,141.32 - $300,235.53.  A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
