The Legal Assistant assists Attorneys by performing legal work requiring knowledge of legal procedures, methods, and terminology by performing the following duties.
Standard Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Interfacing between clients and remote attorneys for legal status
- Reading and understanding, communicate legal documents effectively
- Understanding of legal transactions as it relates to collections or creditor's rights
- Some experience in understanding commercial financing
- Ensures work is performed in a timely manner and in compliance with established policies and guidelines
- Assists attorneys with management of case files and pleadings.
- Reviews files, mail and legal documents to gather information and locate missing or incomplete records.
- Contacts clients, debtors, attorneys and courts for resolution of outstanding issues, further instructions, status updates, and additional information and documentation.
- Additional duties as requested or required.
The Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4:45pm; flexibility permitted and hybrid schedule after training period
Compensation and Benefits:
- $19.55 hr. + (based upon experience)

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 years relevant office experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Commercial Lending and Collections experience a plus.
- Professional demeanor with clients and co-workers.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficient in office practices and procedures; computer operation; word processing software; internet research.
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
