POSITION SUMMARY
The Case Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling of high-volume correspondence with various agencies and law firms. This position will be responsible for preparing, sending, processing, and receiving a large volume of documents daily, ensuring timely and accurate communication across multiple channels. In addition to managing correspondence, the Case Specialist will provide essential support to a dynamic team of managers, attorneys, case analysts, and team leads. Key responsibilities include assisting with auditing healthcare claims itemization, initiating new subrogation cases, and maintaining clear and consistent communication with external law firms and agencies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and track lien progression via case management database.
- Process incoming correspondence in accordance with established protocols.
- Auditing medical claims itemizations and investigating discrepancies.
- Drafting, organizing, and sending legal and medical claims correspondence.
- Initiating new lien cases with appropriate lienholders/collectors under the direction of team management and attorneys.
- Following up via phone, email, and fax on the status of pending requests.
- Utilizing all provided resources and tools, including templates, checklists, training documentation, and task prioritization protocols.
- Completion of special projects assigned by team management or attorneys.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED:
- 6 months experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, health care claims processing, or experience in a similar field or with related coursework
- 1+ years’ experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook professional and/or related coursework
- 1+ years’ experience with case management software and/or billing databases or related coursework
- An ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and to handle emergent tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to effectively accomplish many assigned tasks within a designated time frame.

- Excellent time-management skills
PREFERRED:
- Preferred knowledge of healthcare claims processing, billing, ICD codes.
- Experience with legal drafting a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively.
