Your Team, Your Impact
The Commercial Transactions Group ("CTG") in Marvell’s Legal Department drafts, reviews, negotiates, and manages the company’s global commercial agreements. CTG partners closely with every business unit and functional group across Marvell to provide solutions and business and legal advice on best practices and risks for commercial engagements. This important role will focus on complex customer facing transactions primarily with Marvell’s AI and cloud infrastructure customers for Marvell’s leading-edge products and technologies. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel managing CTG.What You Can Expect
- Lead a team of contract professionals and work with colleagues across multiple business units and functional groups on a high volume and wide range of commercial matters.
- Draft, negotiate, and advise the business primarily on commercial and strategic transactions with Marvell’s customers and suppliers.
- Partner closely and directly with representatives from multiple business units and sales to represent and lead complex negotiations while balancing Marvell’s business and legal interests.
- Drive continuous improvement to legal and business processes and legal support models in collaboration with functional groups and business units.
- Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial transactions and develop strategies to minimize and mitigate these risks.
- Provide legal advice and support to senior management across Marvell’s business.
- Build and maintain business relationships and the trust of internal clients.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member of at least one US state bar with eligibility to register as in-house counsel in California.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience with complex high technology commercial transactions and intellectual property licensing, preferably technology or the semiconductor industry.
- Proven experience in mentoring and developing a high-performing team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and with multiple business units.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, superior time and project management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations, be practical, and solve problems creatively in a fast-paced work setting.
- Excellent judgment, effective client counseling, and decision-making skills.
- Deep understanding of commercial law, contract law, and intellectual property law.
- Experience with AI and cloud infrastructure technologies.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully closing complex transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with international commercial transactions and related legal issues.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide strategic legal advice aligned with business objectives.
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
162,780 - 243,900, $ per annumThe successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
