Job Description

We are a fast-growing, mission-driven organization dedicated to transforming the lives of veterans who have struggled to access the benefits they have earned. Our team specializes in navigating the often-complex world of VA disability claims, stepping in where traditional channels fall short and ensuring veterans and their families receive the compensation, care, and recognition they deserve. Every case we handle is personal; we approach our work with empathy, precision, and an unwavering commitment to justice, using cutting-edge technology and AI tools to streamline processes, identify opportunities, and maximize outcomes. Operating with a lean, agile approach, we balance efficiency with a human touch, proving that mission-driven work and high performance can coexist at the highest level.

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial strategy and operations during this pivotal stage of growth. This is a rare opportunity for a financial leader who thrives in high-impact, resource-conscious environments and can navigate both the challenges and opportunities of a lean organization. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing tight budgets while developing creative strategies to secure capital, whether through debt, grants, or investment, and will embrace technology and AI to drive efficiency, transparency, and actionable insights. More than a traditional CFO, this person will be a strategic partner in shaping the organization’s trajectory, ensuring long-term sustainability, and amplifying our ability to serve veterans nationwide. With flexibility to work remotely or from our office, this role offers the chance to make a tangible, lasting impact while building a high-performing, mission-driven organization from the inside out.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting to ensure organizational sustainability.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow in a lean operational environment.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities, including debt financing, grants, or investor capital.
  • Implement and oversee technology-driven financial systems, leveraging AI tools where appropriate to improve efficiency and insight.
  • Partner with operational teams to align financial strategy with mission objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, including audits and tax filings.
  • Advise on strategic business decisions and potential growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial leader, preferably in legal services, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Expertise in financial strategy, fundraising, debt financing, and managing tight budgets.
  • Strong technological proficiency, including comfort with AI tools and advanced financial systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, resource-constrained environment while maintaining focus on long-term goals.
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Passion for mission-driven work and helping underserved populations.
Compensation:
  • Base salary of $200,000 per year
  • Annual performance-based bonus of 15%
  • Flexible work arrangement (remote or in-office)
  • Opportunity to shape and scale a mission-focused organization while driving meaningful impact
