Under the direction of in-house lawyers, the Compliance Paralegal is to provide Signature Aviation's Legal Department with compliance support in the following areas: third-party vetting, policies and procedures, training, and communications, special projects, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the legal field and a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving demands. This position requires a proactive and organized individual with strong communication skills who will work with persons across the company and within the legal department to ensure an effective ethics and compliance program. As part of a very active legal department, they should be ready to pivot, learn new applications and processes, and support the other paralegals and attorneys when needed.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Due Diligence
- Conduct due diligence on all third parties with which Signature anticipates doing business.
- Assist in the field in obtaining appropriate documentation and adhering to procedures.
- Review findings and escalate where necessary
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement of the compliance program.
- Resolve outstanding Legal requests by reaching out to stakeholders on a 1:1 basis to clarify remaining issues.
- Represent Legal as a point of first contact with those seeking legal advice and serve as a reliable resource to internal customers.
- Provide day-to-day support to in-house lawyers, managing multiple demands through effective organization skills, prioritization, and time management.
Documentation and Record Keeping
- Maintain an accurate third-party database of all parties with whom Signature does business.
- Track policies and procedures, ensuring relevant and timely updates are provided by owners/stakeholders
- Keep organized records related to ethics and compliance activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a paralegal or compliance role

- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Highly motivated to excel in a professional environment with minimal supervision, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
- Work collaboratively with others both within and outside of the Legal Department and at all levels of the company.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge, and be insurable by the company’s applicable insurance policies
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
