Job Description
This position is located in the Legal Division, Litigation Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $315,000. The closing date of this job announcement has been extended to Monday, March 30, 2026.
Duties The incumbent is responsible for supervising and directing the legal operations of the Litigation Branch's Receivership Section, General Litigation Section, and Dallas Regional Office, to ensure efficient, timely, and quality handling of all assignments. The incumbent performs highly specialized and technical legal work covering all aspects of the FDIC's litigation and resolution matters. The incumbent acts as the chief legal assistant to the General Counsel for substantive matters pertaining to the FDIC's litigation caseload. The incumbent renders legal advice and opinions to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, other members of the Board of Directors, the General Counsel, senior FDIC management and FDIC office and division heads, on substantive legal questions arising in the conduct of litigation matters and other legal issues as necessary. In the absence of the General Counsel, when directed by the General Counsel, the incumbent acts in the place and stead of the General Counsel. Exercises supervisory personnel management authority directly or indirectly through subordinate senior managers to include: planning, assigning, and reviewing work products of subordinates; establishing or conveying guidelines and performance and conduct expectations; and, evaluating work performance and providing feedback. Identifies training and developmental needs for staff and provides regular recognition of staff. Works in collaboration with the appropriate division or office to administer disciplinary action. The incumbent performs other functions and responsibilities as assigned by the General Counsel. Salary- $280,000 - $315,000/year
