Typical work assignments will include:
- Administrating a financial management program which includes long-range programmatic plans and the annual budget as key components.
- Maintaining financial policies.
- Providing recommendations and alternative approaches to improve program plans, budget proposals, cost of operations, and program accomplishments.
- Analyzing of expenditure data to identify variables affecting costs.
- Determining reasonable fund levels and evaluating validity of requests.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet the definition of specialized experience.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.
Specialized Experience is defined as experience performing duties such as assisting in the preparation of preliminary budget estimates and justifications; assisting with the monitoring of budget allocation and execution to ensure that operating program objectives are met; extracting and summarizing data from financial systems to inform managers about fund status; monitoring expenditures to ensure funds are used within legal and administrative constraints.
