- Position Summary
Performs administrative/clerical functions unique to the Pre-Trial Intervention Program; and may be required to assist citizens, other departments and outside agencies.
- Essential Functions
- Organizes and maintains files of the Pre-Trial Intervention Program, which includes following approved retention policies
- Coordinate transfer and retrieval of files from archives as needed
- Distribute internal and external correspondence as needed
- Provides administrative support for office which includes copying, labeling, scanning, shredding and maintaining order of files.
- Procures paper, supplies or other items as authorized and instructed from Purchasing Department
- Run errands as needed on McLennan County campus. Including various pick-ups from and deliveries to other county departments, agencies and clerks
- Other computer data entry and reports, as required

- High school diploma or GED
SKILLS ~ EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Must be loyal and able to keep the confidence of the office as required by law
- Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, punctuation, and legal terminology
- General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
- Exceptional skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with County staff, attorneys, investigators, police agencies, and citizens
- Possess excellent communication skills in expressing oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to accurately sort, file, and retrieve material using alphabetical, numerical, or chronological systems
Preferred:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to work under time pressures to meet deadlines; the employee must frequently change tasks, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and work closely with others as part of a team. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS: Some light lifting, bending, standing, walking and prolonged sitting. Vision (ability to read police reports, law books, and normal printed material), understandable coherent speech and hearing.
HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
