Full-time Paralegal (Personal Injury) Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full-time Paralegal to join our clients Personal Injury law firm. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Spanish and have extensive experience in both pre-litigation and litigation processes. This role is crucial in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the smooth operation of our personal injury cases from inception to resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management:
    • Manage a high-volume caseload of personal injury claims
    • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible
    • Track case progress and deadlines, ensuring all time-sensitive tasks are completed promptly
    • Coordinate with clients, attorneys, insurance companies, and other relevant parties
  • Pre-Litigation Support:
    • Conduct initial client interviews and gather essential case information
    • Assist in the preparation of demand letters and settlement packages
    • Collect and organize medical records, bills, and other relevant documentation
    • Perform legal research to support case arguments and strategies
    • Draft correspondence to clients, insurance adjusters, and healthcare providers
  • Litigation Support:
    • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests
    • Draft and file court documents in compliance with court rules and procedures
    • Manage the discovery process, including document production and responses to interrogatories
    • Prepare exhibits and organize evidence for trial
    • Assist attorneys during depositions, mediations, and court appearances
  • Client Communication:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for Spanish-speaking clients
    • Provide regular case updates to clients in both English and Spanish
    • Explain legal processes and procedures to clients in clear, understandable terms
    • Address client concerns and questions promptly and professionally
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Schedule appointments, meetings, and court appearances
    • Manage attorney calendars and ensure timely attendance to all commitments
    • Maintain accurate time and expense records
    • Assist with billing and invoicing processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Paralegal certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury law
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is required
  • Strong knowledge of pre-litigation and litigation processes in personal injury cases
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
