Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Division: Finance
Salary Range: Up to $55,000, based on experience
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervisor: Director of Finance
FUNCTION:
The Payroll Specialist reports to the Director of Finance and acts as an integral member of the District Attorneys Council Finance team. This role services 28 districts within the State of Oklahoma and is required to collaborate cross-functionally and use knowledge of inter-departmental practices, workflows, and compliance to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day payroll processes. The Payroll Specialist will also provide administrative assistance in the processing of daily deposits, general administrative duties such as answering phones,
Primary Tasks:
Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information. Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, and reporting needed changes. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping confidential information. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PeopleSoft Financials Experience preferred
- Ability to manage large volumes of documents
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
- Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing applications
- Demonstrated Customer Service experience/skills
