Essential Job Functions: 

Job purpose

The Capital Markets Analyst will focus primarily on modeling and financial analysis, market research, tracking of performance metrics, creating offering memorandums, maintaining firm presentations, and supporting investor relations. This position supports the debt and equity departments while working directly with development, acquisitions, asset management, legal, and accounting.

Duties and responsibilities

Analysis

  • Produce, update, and maintain underwritings for assets, including both development and acquisition transactions
  • Perform complex financial modeling and analysis in Excel
  • Assist in the due diligence process for acquisitions, developments, and dispositions
  • Provide regular research on all active markets, in conjunction with development teams and acquisitions

Preparing materials for both debt and equity partners

  • Produce high quality, professional offering memorandums with financial analysis, investment summaries, and detailed maps
  • Coordinate, review, and assist brokers in preparing top of the line marketing materials
  • Maintain summaries for pipeline assets along with distributable pipeline materials
  • Assist with preparing quarterly investor presentations
  • Assist with preparing quarterly lender reporting requirements
  • Assist in preparing investor relations letters and communications, as well as disposition memorandums

Maintaining notes and databases

  • Regularly update contact information for transactional parties
  • Actively request from Morgan employees notes and communication details with capital markets relationships
  • Update Morgan track record and brochure
  • Maintain internal summary sheets on pipeline assets
  • Maintain internal loan database and update debt/equity term sheet matrices on a deal-by-deal basis
  • Produce and organize notes on capital sources and meetings
  • Maintain Juniper Square database (Morgan’s CRM)
  • Produce and maintain schedule of upcoming transaction dates and deadlines

Skills

  • Proficient in Excel modeling
  • Able to create offering memorandums for both debt/equity in PowerPoint or Adobe InDesign (preferred)
  • Experience working with Juniper Square or similar CRM/database platforms (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field
  • One to three year(s) in a similar role, real estate, or investor relations background helpful
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office with particular comfort in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • High learning agility and aptitude for proactive problem solving and using independent judgement
  • Ability to work well under pressure, remaining flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly without losing attention to detail
