About The Role:
The Senior Data Privacy Counsel will lead the Company’s U.S. data privacy program and strategy for TTI’s U.S. operations while supporting TTI’s Global Data Privacy Program. The role is responsible for ensuring TTI’s U.S. operations’ federal and state data privacy compliance in a complex business environment while supporting TTI’s strategic business and growth objectives.
This role reports to the Chief Counsel – Global Compliance located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a dotted line to the Global Data Privacy Officer & VP Legal Affairs EMEA in Maidenhead, UK.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily legal support to TTI’s operations across the Americas region (including USA, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America)
- Monitoring the developing legal landscape governing data, privacy, and other related compliance topics
- Developing and implementing strategy and best practices to achieve the businesses’ goals while complying with all applicable laws and regulations including US state level privacy laws, Canadian privacy laws, and Mexican privacy laws
- Monitoring data privacy compliance for different departments and projects including handling of data transfers between holding entities and transfers across boarders
- Reviewing, drafting and advising on data privacy related documents, notices, policies and processes as well as negotiating data privacy and security provisions in contracts with suppliers, partners and enterprise customers including any data protection addendums or data related agreements as needed
- Reviewing and advising on Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and support individual rights requests
- Serving as a key data privacy advisor on data privacy compliance-related risks, governance frameworks and strategic compliance initiatives to TTI’s:
- (1) Head of Group Legal, Compliance and Corporate Governance
- (2) SVP and Chief Counsel – Global Compliance
- (3) Global Chief Data Privacy Officer and VP of Legal Operations (EMEA)
- (4) Business Unit General Counsels
- (5) Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors
- Managing data privacy compliance training programs
- Developing program for and manage incident/breach responses
- Responding to inquiries from privacy and security regulators
- Managing the overall enhance and scaling of the existing privacy program, including privacy operations, documentation, and policy enforcement
Employment Requirements:
- Education and Experience Required
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. and non-U.S. data privacy regulations with 5+ years of legal experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel
- Direct experience providing pragmatic, operational and actionable advice to clients on various legal risks and obligations under privacy and data security laws in the U.S.
- Experience advising/creating policies and procedures related to cybersecurity requirements, data use, governance and retention
- JD from ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing in at least one U.S. State with ability to become authorized house counsel where required
- Preferred certification with IAPP such as CIPP/US or CIPM
- Experience in interacting with federal and state regulators
- Strong knowledge and experience regarding data privacy related technology/tools (e.g., OneTrust) including managing technology efforts and implementations
- Ability to work with IT professionals and knowledge of basic IT terms and concepts
- Competencies and Skills
- Proven leader with executive level presence, communication, and organizational skills to effectively influence Company leadership and ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations
- Ability to lead or manage complex company-wide programs involving multiple business and technology groups

- High-energy, positive, results driven leader who balances pace over perfection with a risk-based lens
- Knows when and how to advance issues
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence and data management governance including work in collaboration with legal to manage record retention program
- Experience working with IT and Cyber Security Teams on programs, policies and processes
- Experience managing outside counsel to meet business needs within budget
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Exempt Position
- $175,000 - $225,000

Candidate must live in or relocate to the Fort Lauderdale, FL, Milwaukee, WI or Anderson, SC area. Position also requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.
