ABOUT THE JOB 

As an experienced Corporate Attorney at Jimerson Birr, you would have an opportunity to gain substantial hands-on experience in sophisticated commercial matters with the firm’s top-tier clientele. 

• Research and analyze the law on complex issues and writing briefs for submission to a supervising lawyer; Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses. 
• Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggest alterations to those documents  
• Negotiate with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes, including settlement conferences 
• Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the law firm or for a client, and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk 
• Perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions 
• Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations 
• Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts, leases, deeds, patent applications, and mortgages 
• Confer with colleagues with specialties in appropriate areas of legal issue to establish and verify bases for legal proceedings 

Education and Licensing

• Law School graduate 
• Attorneys must be admitted to the Florida Bar 
• Attorneys must comply with continuing education requirements as set forth by the Florida Bar 

Experience:

• 5+ years' experience as Corporate or Transactional attorney 

Skills:

• Advanced reading, writing, and speaking skills 
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, handle cases autonomously and produce exemplary work products 
• Strong judgement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills 
• Ability to multitask and prioritize daily work, and meet all deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment 
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
