
Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm and we are seeking a Medical Malpractice Administrator to join our Orlando office. The Medical Malpractice Scheduler will play a vital role in managing the logistics of medical malpractice cases, including scheduling witnesses, coordinating testimonies. The Medical Malpractice Scheduler will need to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication and people skills. Candidates must have substantive familiarity with defense litigation and have the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Those in this role will need well-developed Microsoft Office skills, the ability to solve problems, and communicate well with all levels of the FMG team.

Essential Job Functions
- Schedules depositions and other meetings with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, court reporters and others
- Maintain accurate case calendars, documentation and correspondence for multiple concurrent cases
- Liaise with attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants to ensure smooth case progression.
- Research availability and credentials of potential experts and compile scheduling recommendations
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail
- Regularly reviews files and proactively works to move cases forward
- Ensures all functions are performed in accordance with applicable client guidelines
- Maintain positive relationships with firm attorneys, co-counsel, clients, and vendors
- Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Westlaw and Kofax PDF editor
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned
Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years defense litigation experience
- Medical malpractice litigation experience required
- Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
- Proficiency in case management software and an electronic file setting, comfortable with a paperless system
- Knowledge of HIPPA and related confidentiality protocols
- iManage experience a plus
- Must successfully pass a background/drug screen
