Job Description

Rivkin Radler LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Jacksonville, FL office. The candidate will be working with attorneys in a variety of litigation matters and should have a background and experience working in a litigation firm. Must be proactive and have excellent organizational, scheduling and calendaring skills. The ability to multi-task, manage a large caseload and work in a fast-paced environment is also required. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of federal and state statutes, rules, and procedures pertaining to electronic court filings and systems as well as basic research capabilities (Lexis/Westlaw).   Primary duties include: Drafting of routine court documents such as Notices of Appearances, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Notices of Motions, Subpoenas, Stipulations and other general court documents. Compile and/or draft legal documents for review and use by attorneys such as routine discovery responses and affidavits. Request, pursue, subpoena and work with record vendors to obtain medical treatment and/or educational records. Prepares exhibits and other demonstrative evidence. Conduct case law research using Lexis/Westlaw and public access websites to assist with strategies for defense Organize, analyze, chart and/or index, medical treatment and education records, documents and/or exhibits for motion practice. May assist attorneys in preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial concerning general matters. Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure. Review, categorize and analyze reports, records, data and discovery responses. Capture and record billable time in accordance with policies and procedures.   Requirements: At least 4+ years relevant experience. Excellent organizational and follow-up skills. Medical chronology and billing index experience preferred. Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks. Ability to work with multiple attorneys. Ability to work with large document intensive cases. Proficient in Lexis and/or Westlaw, Microsoft Word, Excel and KOFAX Professional. Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.   We are seeking an individual who will be a fast learner with the ability to multi-task, and will demonstrate a high level of responsibility, teamwork and dedication to accuracy and thoroughness in work product.  Hybrid Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, with an hour lunch. Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
