2721 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 United States of AmericaU-Haul International, Inc. seeks a full-time Immigration Paralegal with at least 3 years of relevant experience to join its Legal Team. The selected candidate will provide in-house paralegal assistance working together with the Legal Department, Human Resources, and it’s preferred outside counsel on U.S. and Canadian immigration and employment related matters.
This is a fully onsite position located at our corporate campus in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities (duties include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities):
Manage a substantial workload from inception to resolution, focusing on employment-based immigration.
Assist the Company and candidates/employees with various immigration processes, including the preparation of petitions for non-immigrant visa categories.
Ensure compliance with work authorization requirements, including updating Section 3 of the I-9 form and assisting with related documentation and processes.
Assist with the preparation of various forms and support the coordination/organization of documents for PERM labor certification and visa applications.
Remain current on immigration related laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Drafting correspondence to various government agencies (DHS, DOS, DOL).
Review applications for relief from removal, ensuring high-quality submissions.
Develop training material/courses as well as presenting information on new and/or upcoming laws to include immigration changes that may affect the day-to-day business operations.
Ensure company compliance is timely updated, and management is kept well-informed of any compliance changes. (i.e.: federal, immigration, state, and local regulation).
Work
Edit and finalize packets according to attorney instructions, ensuring all required evidence is included.
Respond promptly to USCIS's Request for Evidence, adhering to strict deadlines.
Communicate effectively with clients and management, providing clear explanations of case status and processes.
Uphold the company's ethical standards and professional conduct in all interactions.
Maintain and organize case files using our legal database for efficiency and meticulous organization.
Prepare filings according to company standards, contributing to our mission and objectives.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
Have 3 or more years of relevant experience in a law firm, public, or corporate environment and be familiar with immigration matters and activities.
Be responsive, responsible, practical, proactive, organized, and detail oriented.
Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills; a strong work ethic; sound judgment; and good time management habits.
Work well both independently and as part of a team.
Enjoy a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Triage and manage simultaneous time-sensitive matters.
Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual a plus
Prior experience with Bloomberg Law, Westlaw, and Legal Tracker are preferred, but not required.
Education:
Associate Degree (or higher) or certificate in paralegal or legal studies or the equivalent in experience.
