Western National is excited to announce an opportunity to join our Claims Department as a Claims Representative on our Legal Liability Team. This important role will handle Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability claims for both personal and commercial coverages. This highly visible role will allow the right candidate to work with our customers in the claims handling process.


What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?

  • Handles high-volume, low-to-moderate complexity claims within settlement authority.
  • Investigates and reviews policy forms, facts, and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claims resolution.
  • Establishes and reviews proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience, while maintaining appropriate reports to ensure current statuses of claims are clearly documented at all times.
  • Provides direction to outside resources.
Requirements

  

What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?

  • Three to five years of experience handling property-and-casualty insurance claims with a preference in casualty and legal liability claims.
  • Experience with both personal and commercial lines of coverage.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and other systems daily.
  • Understanding of industry practices, standards, and claim concepts.
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Good business judgment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

What will our ideal candidate have?

  • Experience working with Guidewire ClaimsCenter is a plus.
  • Working toward, or an interest in, obtaining AIC, AINS, or CPCU certification.

Compensation overview

The targeted hiring range for this role is $77,968 - $87,725, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate, as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
