ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Conduct general legal research and analyze law sources such as statutes, legal articles, treaties, court cases, and legal codes.
· Prepare legal memoranda, briefs, corporate documents, and materials.
· Prepare audit letters.
· Manage general departmental filings.
· Conduct trademark clearance research.
· Handle all corporate filings.
· Draft legal correspondence.
· Coordinate filings for non-citizen employees to ensure continual work authorization.
· Provide initial review of agreements under attorney supervision.
· Provide support toward the certification and ensure compliance with the customer-required quality management systems (TISAX, TS16949, IATF, etc.).
· Positions that fall under the functions of Product Development, Legal, HR, IT, and Executive Management are required to exercise a higher level of confidentiality and discretion in handling information that the positions have access to.
· Assist the Trade Compliance Department.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Support brand protection activities
· Edit and publish legal newsletters
· Assist with departmental meetings and training, including travel and entertainment arrangements for staff/guests and other support tasks
· Assist with corporate insurance renewal
· Other duties may be assigned
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
· Supervision is typically received from the Corporate Counsel or an executive-level position.
SUPERVISION ADMINISTERED
· This position does require the supervision of others within the Legal department.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or paralegal certificate and two to four years of legal administration/paralegal experience.
· Bilingual in Spanish and English languages
· LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
o Valid U.S. driver’s license required
o Valid documents for international travel
