Lucid Motors See More Job Openings by This EmployerLucid is seeking a highly qualified attorney to join its legal team as Managing Counsel, Litigation and Supplier Claims Resolution. The Managing Counsel, Litigation and Supplier Claims Resolution role will manage (i) a wide-range of litigation, investigatory, and pre-litigation matters, , securities, employment, and intellectual property and (ii) supplier claims/adjudication, world-wide, covering pre-litigation and litigation handling of commercial disputes, including preliminary injunctions, mediation, and overseeing local outside counsel in jurisdictions both within the United States and globally. This person will work in close partnership with cross functional teams to help develop and implement best practices to handle, manage, and resolve litigation. The role will work closely with numerous stakeholders across the legal function.
You Will:
- Oversee and manage a wide range of litigation and investigatory matters with the aid of outside counsel, including supplier/commercial disputes, supplier bankruptcies, securities, and intellectual property.
- Partner with supply chain and the commercial team to respond to international supplier claims, breaches of contract, related disputes, and act as primary litigation support for issues impacting supply chain, including handling actions for specific performance and emergency relief through temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, or similar methods.
- Collaborate with outside counsel to ensure top-notch representation and handling of litigation and disputes, including ensuring high-quality work product, effective strategy, and adherence to company objectives.
- Partner with other legal colleagues and business stakeholders to effectively manage day-to-day activities for disputes, litigation matters, or regulatory investigations.
- Partner with internal stakeholders regarding insurance coverage and strategy and coordinate with insurance carriers on litigation coverage and defense.
- Help to oversee and update litigation policies and processes, including e-discovery processes.
- Work seamlessly and collaboratively as a legal business partner to multiple internal business stakeholders.
- Drive internal strategy for case handling and resolution, including the assessment of risks, required litigation resources, and settlement values.
- Support the development of processes, procedures, and metrics to increase the overall effectiveness of the legal services provided to the company, including evaluation of litigation metrics and outside counsel success.
- Maintain generalized knowledge of litigation, arbitration, and mediation processes and monitor litigation trends and developments related to the EV industry.
- Collaborate with members of the legal team to complete general legal projects and initiatives.
You Bring:
- Minimum of 7 years of substantive general litigation experience, preferably both in-house and at a law firm.
- Significant experience supporting supply chain and handling global supply chain disputes.
- Experience in both State and Federal Court.
- AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to effectively relay complex information in a concise format.
- Practical business judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects.
- Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful, and taking on additional responsibility.
- Law degree (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution.
This is an onsite/hybrid role based out of our Newark, CA location.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$205,600 - $301,510 USD
