Job Duties:
Independently provides highly technical legal direction, advice, assistance, consultation, representation, and recommendations within the assigned region to all agency offices and programs. Provides legal representation to the assigned region and the Department through participation and direction of pre-permit, pre-enforcement, settlement, and other meetings with outside parties. Represents the Department in administrative and judicial proceedings including enforcement of final orders and penalty assessments, judgement debtor examinations, and contempt of court proceedings. Represents the Department in settlement negotiations and informal dispute resolutions involving enforcement actions.

This position is is within the Legal Services Division within the Office of the Secretary. This position is domiciled at the Acadiana Regional office in Lafayette.
THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT, PERMANENT EMPLOYEES OF THE LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY.
There is a Special Entrance Rate (SER) for this position, as follows:
Attorney-Regional: $36.66 per hour or $2,932.80
