Job Description

Legal Assistant 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant to join our team in our Cleveland office.

The ideal candidate will assist in managing administrative projects and workflow, maintaining communication with clients and stakeholders, and supporting attorneys within the practice group. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in office software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage administrative workflows including planning timelines, tracking milestones, scheduling meetings, and coordinating resource allocation.
  • Oversee annual tax review cycles, both formal and informal, ensuring timely execution. 
  • Serve as backup for docket management.
  • Provide administrative support as needed
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients and opposing counsel through effective
    communication and professional interaction.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the practice administrative group and assist attorneys as needed, fostering a supportive and efficient team environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse team and diverse client base.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database management or other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 

Experience and Education:

  • Preferred experience in a law firm environment with familiarity with litigation terminology.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of administrative office experience.
  • Bachelor or Associate degree strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in real estate/appraisal is advantageous.
  • Experience in project management considered a plus.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform light work, including occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
  • Work primarily in a typical office setting.
  • Willingness to work more than 35 hours per week during busy periods, with mandatory full-time office presence during specific periods.

Hybrid Work Model:
During the training period, the role requires full-time office attendance for five days a week. After completion, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule, with two days remote and three days in the office.
